came into being and in 2003 when it became Uni.Asia General Insurance,

Uni.Asia General launched Motorist’s Companion 2 (MC2), the second product for the MC series. It is a personal accident plan that covers driver and passengers while driving, riding as a passenger, boarding or alighting from a named vehicle. The third product, Motorist’s Companion Commercial (MCC) was launched the following month to provide protection for driver and/or one (1) attendant whilst driving as a driver, riding, boarding or alighting from a named commercial vehicle. |

Uni.Asia General made online claims submission available effective 1 March 2010. This service allows policyholders the convenience to make their auto claims directly at its panel workshop instead of at the company’s branches. |

April Effective 1 April 2010, Uni.Asia General transformed two branches, i.e. Taman Tun and Wangsa Maju into ‘Service Branches’ concurrent with the centralisation of the branches’ main operations at Headquarter, of which functions relating to Accounting, Underwriting and Claims centralise at the Headquarter while the ‘Service Branches’ continue to serve business partners and customers by offering counter and MMIP services as well as the conveniences to access the FLAS system, submit claims and other documents.
On 5 April 2010, the Company organised a day-long Blood Donation Drive with the theme “Gift of Life” in collaboration with the National Blood Bank at Menara Uni.Asia. 74 pints of blood donated out of which 47 new donors recorded this time around.
On 16 April 2010, the Company launched Motor Third Party Fire and Theft (TPFT) insurance, a plan that provides protection against fire and theft to the insured’s vehicle, as well as damage caused by the insured’s vehicle to third-party property. |

July On 1 July, Uni.Asia General launched Comprehensive Private Car Agreed Value Plan (AVP) and the fourth product of the MC series, Motorist’s Companion Agreed Value (MCAV) insurance.
Turning to its CSR activities, the Company initiated a 3-day e-Waste Recycling Campaign from 5 to 7 July which aims to conserve environment and raise funds for charity. The campaign, themed “Recycle for Charity” received enthusiastic support from its employees, building tenants and customers alike with 52 monitors, 74 CPUs and 298 kg of other e-waste collected.
On 13 July, the Company organised a community visit to Persatuan Kebajikan Warga Tua dan Kanak-Kanak Wilayah Persekutuan to donate the proceeds of the 3-day e-Waste Recycling Campaign. Besides spending time with the residents and sharing a meal with them, Uni.Asia General also made cash donation with the hope to ease the home’s financial burdens. |

Uni.Asia General organised the second Blood Donation Drive in the financial year. The campaign was held in support of the week-long nationwide Insurance Day Blood Donation Drive jointly organised by PIAM, LIAM and NAMLIFA from 11 to 17 October 2010. Uni.Asia General successfully collected 79 pints of blood while 97 employees and alike came forward to support this noble cause. |
