Uni.Asia General Insurance - Corporate Social Responsibility

Uni.Asia General has a relatively small impact on the environment compared to an industrial company. We nevertheless strive to also make a contribution in this area. We aim to manage the environmental impact of our activities, including in such areas as internal processes, responsible consumption and energy use, recycling and by encouraging our employees to act responsibly regarding environmental impact and risks.

Since 2008, we:

•	Conserve our energy usage by switching-off all office lights before leaving for lunch, and when leaving the office for the night, we also activating the ‘sleep mode’ on computers, printers, monitors and other business machines while not in use as conserving energy could avoid emitting tonnes of CO2.
•	Reduce our paper consumption, following the implementation of double-sided printing and increased use of digital data storage devices such as CDs, flash drives and floppy disks to store information thereby using less space, less paper and creating less wastage.
•	Recycle empty ink and toner cartridges by bringing in used batteries, office supplies (such as pen, glue or marker) and cartridges to the Administration Department in exchange for new ones. The recycled items will be remanufactured, reused or disposed of by our recycling partners to reduce strain on local landfill, ensure less solid waste and fewer resources consumed.

Going forward, we will continue to manage the social and environmental impacts of our business operations whilst taking into consideration the evolving demands of our stakeholders.
