Over the last 34 years and more, Uni.Asia General Insurance Berhad has built a reputation as the leading insurer in the market. With each year, the company stepped up to the mark to face new challenges in a highly competitive industry. Starting from 1977 when South East Asia Insurance came into being and in 2003 when it became Uni.Asia General Insurance, the company has continued to strive with unwavering focus to achieve its targets.

February
The Company introduced the Motorist’s Companion Taxi Driver (MCT), a personal accident insurance plan that provides cover for town taxi drivers and their passengers. Offering up to six plans, the benefits include payouts for accidental death, permanent disablement, medical expenses, corrective dental and cosmetic surgery, bereavement allowances and ambulance fees.
 
March
Uni.Asia General successfully held the Agents Convention 2010/11 at Club Med Cherating Beach in Pahang to record appreciation to its network of agents who put in a sterling performance last year. The convention focused on teambuilding and activities that were specially created so agents could learn to share ideas and work with each others as a team as they achieve their personal and company goals.
 
June
Uni.Asia General held a day-long Blood Donation Drive themed “Our Choice to Give Life” in collaboration with the National Blood Bank at Menara Uni.Asia. With the strong support from staff and the public, a record of 111 people registered for blood donation and 88 donors successfully donated out of which 27 were new donors.
 
July
The Company introduced the Foreign Worker’s Hospital and Surgical Scheme (SKHPPA), a scheme that is specially designed to reduce the financial burden of the employers of foreign workers in the event of foreign employees being hospitalised due to accident or illness. This scheme offers up to 8 benefits, including i) Daily hospital & room board (up to a maximum of 30 days) and intensive care unit (up to a maximum of 15 days); ii) Hospital supplies and services; iii) Operating theatre; iv) Surgical fees (excluding organ transplantation); v) Anesthetist fees; vi) In-hospital physician visits (up to a maximum of 30 days); vii) In-hospital specialist consultation visits (up to a maximum of 30 days) and viii) Ambulance fees or medical report fees.
