Uni.Asia Expects Over
RM3m in First Year of BisPro
KUALA LUMPUR, APRIL 22, 2005 - Uni.Asia General Insurance
Bhd expects its newly launched and unique insurance plan - BisPro
- for small to medium-sized businesses to contribute over RM3 million
in gross premium in its financial year ending March 31, 2006.
The company expects to have more than 3,000 customers in the first
year of the business insurance plan, which has flexible packages
to suit the different needs of small to medium-sized businesses.
It expects businesses such as retail and food and beverage outlets
to take up the plan. "We realised that there is a need and
demand for comprehensive packages to make protection decisions easier
for businesses.
Previously, one owner may have three or four separate plans due
for renewal at different times of the year. With this plan, they
can have all the coverage in one. Renewal can be done at one go,
making protection easy and seamless," Uni.Asia General chief
executive officer Hashim Harun. The BisPro plans offer five different
packages with premium ranging from RM500 to RM2,500, giving owners
the flexibility of choosing the one most suited to the scope of
their business. The packages cover fire, all risks, burglary, money,
plate glass, public liability and employer's liability. BisPro also
offers no excess charges
for all claims.
Uni.Asia General is the general insurance unit of Uni.Asia Capital
Sdn Bhd, which is 51%-owned by DRB-Hicom Bhd and 49% by UOB Group.
It had gross premium sales of RM316 million in the year ended March
31, 2004.
